Materials

  1. Watercolours
  2. Paper
  3. Cooking oil
  4. Trays
  5. Small containers
  6. Eye dropper

Here’s what you need to do

  1. Before you begin this activity, spread some old newspapers and get your little one in old clothes or an apron because things are bound to get messy!
  2. Mix individual watercolours with water in separate containers and add oil to one of the containers.
  3. Place a sheet of paper on a tray, and let your little one use the dropper to drop the different watercolours.
  4. Using a different dropper, have her drop oil on the paint-covered paper. Do not overdo it, or everything will turn into one colour.
  5. Let her watch as the watercolours and oil don’t mix together and create a beautiful piece of art.
  6. Repeat the process on different sheets of paper to see what happens, and let them dry overnight.
  7. The following day, you will have beautiful paintings made by your little artist!

What a fun activity to keep your little one busy, right? For more activities like this one, check out the Intellikit Summer Camp page.
