Materials
- Watercolours
- Paper
- Cooking oil
- Trays
- Small containers
- Eye dropper
Here’s what you need to do
- Before you begin this activity, spread some old newspapers and get your little one in old clothes or an apron because things are bound to get messy!
- Mix individual watercolours with water in separate containers and add oil to one of the containers.
- Place a sheet of paper on a tray, and let your little one use the dropper to drop the different watercolours.
- Using a different dropper, have her drop oil on the paint-covered paper. Do not overdo it, or everything will turn into one colour.
- Let her watch as the watercolours and oil don’t mix together and create a beautiful piece of art.
- Repeat the process on different sheets of paper to see what happens, and let them dry overnight.
- The following day, you will have beautiful paintings made by your little artist!
