Materials:

  • Plain paper
  • Paints
  • Paintbrush/container

Instructions:

  • This activity is super simple and cute. Let’s begin by taking some red paint into a large container (in which your little one’s foot can fit!)
  • Set out the plain paper for the painting.
  • Next, help your toddler dip one foot in the red paint. Either hold on to him or have him sit in his chair for stability. Or, you can use a paintbrush to paint your child’s foot.
  • Then, have him press that foot down onto the paper firmly. Let it dry.
  • The heel part of the foot painting makes the head of the lobster. So, turn the paper upside down so that the footprint is facing towards you (see the image above).
  • Then, help your child dip his hands in the red paint. You can do it one hand at a time or both together. Either way, he’ll be having fun!
  • On the paper, help him press his little painted hands firmly down on the sides of the foot painting’s heel (see the image above).
  • Lastly, use a paintbrush to connect the hands to the lobster’s body, draw eyes on the face and legs and markings on the body (see image).

How much fun was that for your little one? This is an art piece to be treasured!
