Games And Activities That Will Help Your Child To Learn Parts Of The Face

Here are some games and activities on parts of the face for kids –

1. Mirror Play

Stand with your child in front of the mirror, facing it. Now point to one face part at a time and encourage your child to point at their face part. This way, your child will learn easily about the facial parts, and whenever they look in the mirror, they will look at their facial parts, point at them and name them.

2. Learn With Rhymes

Children love singing nursery rhymes. There are various rhymes that are available to teach children about their facial parts. You can teach these rhymes to your child and make them learn the face parts. We have mentioned a rhyme below that you can teach to your child.

Be Glad Your Nose Is On Your Face

Be glad your nose is on your face,
not pasted on some other place,
for if it were where it is not,
you might dislike your nose a lot.

Imagine if your precious nose
were sandwiched in between your toes,
that clearly would not be a treat,
for you’d be forced to smell your feet.

Your nose would be a source of dread
were it attached atop your head,
it soon would drive you to despair,
forever tickled by your hair.

Within your ear, your nose would be
an absolute catastrophe,
for when you were obliged to sneeze,
your brain would rattle from the breeze.

Your nose, instead, through thick and thin,
remains between your eyes and chin,
not pasted on some other place–
be glad your nose is on your face!

3. Self Portrait

Give your child a blank sheet and ask them to draw their own face on it. Next, ask them to colour it and outline all the face parts. Now, encourage your little one to identify all the body parts, one by one, and ask them to write them down if they can. This way, they will learn to identify the face parts in the easiest way possible.

4. Follow The Instructions

Tell your child that you’re that you’ll say a sentence, and they have to perform that action. For example, if you say, “touch your lips”, they have to touch their lips, or if you say, “roll your eyes”, they have to rotate their eyes. This is a perfect game to make your child learn about the facial parts while strengthening their attention skills.
