Materials:
- Blue-coloured paper
- Paints
- Cotton pieces
- Scissors
- Glue
Instructions:
- Take the blue-coloured paper, and draw a branch near its bottom side (don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be perfect!)
- Help your child colour it in with brown paint. Let it dry.
- Now, let’s make the cardinal! Paint your child’s palm and fingers in red paint, and press it (horizontally) quickly and firmly on the blue paper. Make sure that the handprint is a little above the painted branch (see image for reference). Let dry.
- Now, let’s draw a beak, eyes, and legs. Help your child draw a beak and legs with orange paint, and eyes with black paint (see image for reference). Let it dry.
- Time to make some snow! Take some cotton pieces, and help your child paste bits of it as snow on the branch.
- Then, with some white paint, let your child finger-paint dots of snow on the blue paper. Let dry completely.
The cardinal painting is ready!
