Materials
- 3 Toilet Paper rolls
- Tissue paper
- White paper
- Scissors
- String
- 1 dowel or stick
- Double-sided tape
- Black marker
Here’s what you need to do
- Take tissue papers of different colours and cut circles from these. Cut the circles into semi-circles.
- On a roll of tissue paper, stick double-sided tape around the bottom of the roll. Let your child stick the straight edge of the semi-circle on the tape.
- Keeping a gap of 5 cms, stick double-sided tape above the first round of tape and repeat the step of attaching the semi-circles. Repeat this step on the top of the roll as well.
- Cut long strips of tissue paper, and stick the double-sided tape inside the bottom of the roll. Press the strips of tissue paper on the tape to make the tail.
- Cut a circle from a white paper, and make a black ball inside it to make the eye. Stick this circle on the top of the roll.
- Repeat this process to make two more carps.
- Next, cut three pieces of string that are 7 inches long and tie them to the dowel.
- On the inside top of the roll, stick some double-sided tape and press the ends of the string on the double-sided tape to attach the carps to the dowel.
- This is a wonderful craft that you and your child can make together, and later, he can run around with it!
Did you know what a carp was before this activity? Carps are oily freshwater fish from Europe and Asia!
