Materials
- Paper cups
- Bright coloured nail polishes
- Baking pan or container
- Wooden skewer or chopstick
- Nail polish remover (for cleaning up)
- Old newspapers
Here’s what you need to do
- To set up for the activity, spread some old newspapers on the work surface, keeping some space for the cups to dry.
- Next, fill the baking pan with water enough to dip the paper cups.
- Now it’s time to add the nail polish. You can add two or three colours and use the wooden skewer to make some swirls and designs.

- Once you’re happy with the design, have your little one hold the paper cup by its rim and dip it in the water.
- Take the paper cup out and put it upside down on the newspaper to let it dry.
- When the paint dries, you can clean up any smudges using the nail polish remover.
- Your beautiful marbled paper cups are ready!
Wasn’t this activity a lot of fun?
