Primary Skills – Fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination

Materials:
- Coloured papers/plain paper/newspaper
- Bowls/CDs
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pencil
- Marker/sketch pen
- Paints (optional)
Instructions:
- Using a bowl or a CD, help your child trace its outline on a piece of coloured paper, plain paper or newspaper. Carefully cut out the circle. If using plain paper or newspaper, let your child paint the circle cut-out with any colour he likes. Let dry.

- Fold the circle in half, and keep it aside. This is the body of the snail.
- Next, let’s make its shell. For this, you will need 3 circles of different sizes and colours. You can use different coloured papers, or paint plain paper/newspaper in different colours after the circles have been cut out.
- For the biggest circle, you can use the bowl or CD you used to make the snail’s body. For the middle circle, use a smaller bowl/container to trace the outline. For the smallest circle, use an even smaller bowl/container. Cut them out carefully.

- Now, it’s time to paste these circles onto the snail’s body. Help your child to apply glue and paste the biggest circle first, near the right end of the fold. On top of that goes the middle circle, and then the smallest circle. Its shell is now ready.

- Next, it’s time to make the snail’s eyes. First, take coloured paper (any colour will do!), and cut out two short and thin strips from it. Help your child paste them in a V-shape at the back of the snail’s body, near the left end (see image below for reference).

- Then, cut out two small circles from another coloured paper (any colour will do), and stick each one on the strips that you pasted on the snail’s body.

- For the last step, let your child draw two eyes and a mouth on the snail.

The snail is ready! We hope you enjoy this fun activity with your little one!
