The Story Of The King And His Ghost For Children
A very long time ago, there lived a king, and he had an advisor. The king’s advisor was greedy in nature and wanted to acquire all the king’s wealth. The king was unaware of his intentions and would trust him a lot.
“Somehow, if I get all the king’s treasure, then I don’t need to worry about anything in life,” the advisor used to think all the time.
One day, the king and the advisor went on a hunt in the jungle. Inside the jungle, they found a cave and decided to take a look. The moment they went inside the cave, they found a lot of treasure, to their surprise.
“Ahh! So much treasure! Now I can add this treasure to the kingdom’s wealth and do more for my people,” said the noble king to his advisor.
But the advisor had some other plans in his mind. The moment the advisor saw the treasure, he got greedy and attacked the king. The king got surprised by this sudden attack and got injured very badly. Somehow, he managed to come out of that cave. The moment he came out, a big boulder fell at the opening of the cave, trapping the advisor inside. Before dying, the king cursed the advisor, saying, “Only an honest man will be able to remove the boulder from the opening of the cave and be able to set you free.”
Many years passed; one day, an honest traveller happened to pass that cave and noticed the boulder. He removed the boulder and saw an old man sitting there. That old advisor narrated the whole incident to the honest traveller and asked for his help.
“I will give all this treasure if you help me find the way out here,” said the advisor to the traveller. But the traveller refused to take the offer and went his way.
When the traveller reached his town, he told his friends about the whole incident. Unlike him, his friends were greedy. They asked him to take him near the cave, and the traveller was a kind-hearted man and agreed to take them there.
When they reached the cave, they decided to take all the treasure themselves and ditch the honest traveller. As they were planning to do the same, the king’s ghost suddenly appeared in front of them and scared everyone away except the genuine traveller.
Happy with the traveller’s honesty, the king gave all the treasure to him.
“Please take all the treasure as a gift. You deserve it,” said the king’s spirit to the honest traveller.
The traveller couldn’t refuse the king’s spirit and gracefully accepted the reward.
