The scent of goodies baking in the oven that used to fill the house during Christmas week? The innumerable craft items that were made in the week prior to add to your Christmas tree?
Well, now it’s time to celebrate your favourite winter festival with your children. Confused about how to make it special for your little one? Well. here’s an easy guide to lift up the Christmas spirit at home by doing some fun Christmas craft activities with your children. This way, you get to spend some quality time with your children and it’s easy to do, no big messes or arrangements. Below we have curated some mess-free Christmas craft ideas using simple materials that guarantee a lot of fun!

1. Christmas Tree With Tapes
Materials You Need
- Paper
- Colourful Tapes
- Paper Star
Instructions
On a piece of paper, paste tapes of different lengths to make a Christmas tree. Add a star on the top, and your colourful Christmas tree is ready!
2. Popsicle Stick Reindeer
Materials You Need
- Popsicle Sticks
- Brown Paper
- Glue
- Red Ribbon
- Google Eyes
- Red Pom Poms
Instructions
Paste two popsicle sticks together by the ends, and paste the third stick on it to make it look like the letter ‘A’. Paste it on brown paper to cover only the triangle part. Paste the pom pom on the top of the letter ‘A’. Now, tilt the letter upside-down and paste the google eyes to make the eyes of reindeer. Add a red ribbon as shown in the picture above. You Christmas Popsicle Reindeer is ready!
3. Popsicle Stick Christmas Tree
Materials You Need
- Popsicle Sticks
- Colourful Buttons
- Star made of paper
Instructions
Take three popsicle sticks and paste them by the ends to form a triangle. Now paint them green and let them dry. Paste colourful buttons on the tree to decorate it (you can also use paper circles). Add a paper star on top of any one triangle, and your Christmas tree is ready.
4. Twigs Star
Materials You Need
- Twigs
- Twine
Instructions
Using five twigs, make a shape of a star. Carefully bind twigs together using twine, as shown in the picture above. Your twig star is ready. You can add it to the top of the Christmas tree or make more such stars to decorate your tree.
5. Tangram Christmas Tree

Take out the coloured wooden Tangrams from the box. Also, take out the deck of cards and ask your child to look out for the Christmas tree card. Now, pick the wooden pieces that match the card and arrange them to make a Christmas tree. Your little one will love looking for the pieces and arranging them to make an X-mas tree!
6. Foil-Roll Snowman
Materials You Need
- Foil Roll
- Paints
- Pom Poms
- Yellow Paper
- Sketch Pen
Instructions
Take the foil paper roll and cut it from the centre. Take any one half of the roll and paint it white. Next, take a thin strip of paper and paste it to make the headphones of the snowman (as shown in the picture above). Add pom poms at each side where the strip of paper ends. Cut out the nose of the snowman from the yellow paper and paste it. Make the eyes and the smile of the snowman using a black sketch pen. Your snowman, listening to songs, is ready!
7. Toilet-Paper Roll Reindeer
Materials You Need
- Twigs
- Toilet Paper Roll
- Wool – Brown and other colours
- Scissors
- Glue
- Googly Eyes
- Pom Poms
Instructions
Take a toilet paper roll and wrap it with brown wool to cover it. Next, take the twigs and cover them with colourful wool. Paste the twigs inside the toilet paper roll to make antlers of reindeer. Now, paste google eyes and pop poms to make its nose. Your reindeer is ready!
8. Pasta Wreath
Materials You Need
- Bow Pasta
- Glue
- Cardboard
- Paints
Instructions
Take a cardboard and cut a ring shape out of it. Start pasting your bow-shaped pasta on it, as shown in the picture. You can also ask your child to paint the pasta golden, red, blue, green or any other colour of their choice. Paste mini ribbon bows on it, and your pasta wreath is ready.
9. Paper Plate Santa
Materials You Need
- Paper Plate
- Coloured Sheets
- Cotton Ball
- Sketch Pen
Instructions
Take a paper plate and cut it in half. Cut a big triangle out of a red colour sheet to make Santa’s hat. Also, cut a small circle of red colour to make his nose. Next, use pink paper to make Santa’s face, as shown in the picture above. Add a cotton ball on the top of his hat and make his eyes and lips using a black sketch pen. Your Santa is ready!
10. Christmas Card
Materials You Need
- Coloured Craft Paper
- Glue
- Scissors
Instructions
Take some green and brown craft paper and cut small circles out of it. Take any light-coloured sheet and make a Christmas tree on it by arranging the green circles together and using brown circles to make the tree’s stem. Cut one circle of any colour and paste it on the top of the tree. Your cute Christmas tree is ready!
11. Dominoes Christmas Tree
Materials You Need
- Wooden Dominoes
- Golden Glitter Sheet
- Scissors
Instructions
Use some colourful wooden dominoes from the box and ask your child to pick out the green dominoes to make a tree and use the brown dominoes to make the bark of the tree. Help your child to make a Christmas tree using these dominoes, as shown in the image above. Cut a star shape out of the gold glitter sheet and add it to the top of the tree. Your dominoes Christmas tree is ready!
