First, we packed our bags and went to my grandparents’ village. The train ride was thrilling. I saw green fields, cows, and rivers from the window. Days were hot, but we stayed cool. Grandpa took me to the river where I splashed water with my cousins. We built sandcastles and caught tiny fish. Evenings brought kite flying. My red kite soared the highest, making everyone cheer.

Essay On Summer Vacation In 300 Words

This section presents a structured ‘How I Spent My Summer Vacation’ essay suitable for primary school students. The composition details a complete holiday experience in exactly 300 words.

Summer vacation brings immense joy to every child, and this year was no exception for me. As school ended in April, I eagerly awaited two months of freedom from books and bells. Our family planned a memorable trip to my grandparents’ village in Maharashtra, promising adventure and bonding.

We boarded the early morning train from Pune. The scenic views of hills, rivers, and farms kept me glued to the window. Upon arrival, Grandma welcomed us with her signature coconut laddoos. The village air was fresh, unlike the city hustle.

Days began with Grandpa and me helping in the orchard. Plucking ripe mangoes and eating them fresh was delightful. Their golden juice dripped down my chin as we played antakshari under the mango tree. Sometimes, I helped my grandmother water the plants and pick vegetables for lunch, learning about different crops and flowers. Afternoons meant refreshing river dips. With cousins, we swam, built pebble dams, and skipped stones. Once, I caught a small fish, feeling like a hero. We would often race each other to the riverbank, our laughter echoing across the fields.

Evenings featured kite festivals. My colourful patang danced highest in the sky. We savoured bhutta (roasted corn) from street vendors. Nights brought storytelling sessions. Grandma narrated Panchatantra tales, sparking my imagination.

Mid-vacation, we visited a nearby fair. Swings thrilled me, and I won a stuffed elephant at ring toss. Back home, Mum enrolled me in art classes. I painted summer scenes — suns, beaches, and fruits — to hone my creativity.

I also read adventure books like Noddy, finishing three in a week. Daily journal writing captured moments and improved my skills.

Friends visited for cricket matches. We played till dusk, laughing over silly wickets.

This vacation taught me patience, the beauty of nature, and the value of family. Though it ended, sweet memories linger, making me count days to the next.

Long Essay On Summer Vacation

Students in grade 3 are adept at writing sentences. However, they may still find it challenging to write a descriptive essay about ‘My Summer Vacation.’ Here is a sample essay on summer vacation class 3 students:

Advantages of Summer Vacation

Summer vacations are the happiest time for all students. During this time, they are free from having to get up early for school and do homework. They also get to sleep late and wake up late with no classes to attend in the morning. Summer vacation starts just after commencing a new grade or after the final exams, making it the perfect time for students to relax after loads of studying. So, it’s no wonder every student anticipates summer vacations every year.

Most of us have elaborate plans on how we will spend our vacations. Some kids plan to go on holidays with their families, while some take up new hobbies or visit their grandparents or relatives they can’t meet during school days. And some kids get to do all of these things during their summer vacations.

My Summer Vacation

I am one such lucky kid, as my parents take me to visit my grandparents’ house in the village every summer vacation. There, I get to meet my cousins, uncles and aunts. Together we all spend a few days enjoying relaxed village life.

During the day, I play many games with my cousins, and we complete our school holiday homework. In the evenings, we help our grandfather in the garden. We water the plants and learn to plant new saplings. At night, my grandmother tells us interesting stories. She is also an excellent cook. We all get to enjoy her delicious dishes daily. My aunt is a good painter. Every year, she teaches drawing and painting to all of us kids. We also go to a nearby dance school to learn dancing.

After spending a few days with my grandparents and cousins, my parents took me on holiday. Every year, we visit different tourist places, and this year we plan to go to Goa and spend a few days enjoying the sun, sand, and sea. We plan on exploring the lush waters while trying out some fun new water sports and activities. We also want to walk around old Goa, taking in the architecture and natural beauty and shop from street vendors. We usually return home a few days before the summer vacation ends. I use that time to complete my school work and prepare my books for the school reopening. I also spend time playing with my neighbourhood friends in the evening. We all enjoy playing cricket in the colony playground.

Places To Visit During Summer Vacation

Here are some of my favourite places to visit during summer vacation:

  • Goa: Known for its beautiful beaches, water sports, and vibrant culture, Goa is an ideal destination to enjoy the summer sun.
  • Mysore: Mysore is a city in Karnataka famous for its palaces, temples, and wildlife sanctuaries.
  • Darjeeling: A hill station in West Bengal, famous for its tea plantations and toy train.
  • Kerala: The Kerala backwaters are a network of waterways that offer kids a unique experience.
  • Andaman and Nicobar Islands: The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a tropical paradise known for their pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and rich marine biodiversity.
