Keeping kids inside the house during the summer break is really difficult, and keeping them entertained while they’re indoors is a huge challenge for most parents. But don’t worry. We’re here to help you keep your kids busy with these fun games that you can make from things in your house.
We have games for toddlers as well as for older kids, so all you have to do is set up the game and keep your little one engaged for hours. You can also join in on the fun and play some games with them! Let’s get to the games.
Touch And Feel Box

The perfect game for toddlers between the age of 2-4 years, this one includes throwing in things like a comb, keys, a pen, etc., in a box and giving it to your little one. Make him guess what’s in the box or ask him to pull out one item at a time and name it. This game is good for sensory play and helps little kids associate the object with its name.
Clothespin Snatch Game
This is an exciting game for kids between the age of 3-6 years and will work on those fine motor skills. Take small trinkets or wrapped candy and spread them on the floor. Give your child a clothespin and ask him to use it to pick up the trinkets on the floor. You can also play this game with him and try to snatch as many things as possible. The one with the most trinkets wins!
Don’t Drop the Balloon

Let’s blow some balloons and have some fun with them. Give a balloon to your little one and tell him the only rule in this game- don’t let the balloon touch the ground. Watch as he moves his body around to keep the balloon up in the air. It’s a great way to spend that toddler energy, and you can join the fun as well. Don’t forget to keep the breakable objects away from the play area before you start the game.
Indoor Bowling
Who says you can’t make a bowling alley inside your house? Take a few water bottles and fill 1/3 of the bottle with water or sand. Put them together like bowling pins, and gather your kids. Try getting the pins down with different types of balls and keep your kids busy for hours. While older kids will get right into the game, younger kids might need some assistance while playing this game.
Ping Pong Maze

A game that will keep your child busy for hours, this one is suitable for older kids. Make a maze on a flat surface using playdough or regular dough and place a ping pong ball at one end of the maze. Give a straw to your child and ask him to move the ball from one end of the maze to the other by blowing on it using the straw. If the ball rolls out of the playdough maze, he has to start again.
Tape And Ball Fun

This one’s a great game for your little one to practice his throwing skills. All you need to do is make three circles or squares, one inside the other on the floor using coloured tape. Give your little one a ball and ask him to sit at a distance and try to get the ball in one of the circles. To make the game more exciting for older kids, you can assign points to each circle, and the one with the highest score wins!
Alphabet Matching Game

Memory games are a wonderful way to keep your little one engaged and keep his mind alert. This game is perfect for toddlers, and it is really easy to put together at home. Write the alphabet on two sheets of paper and draw circles around each letter. Keep one sheet aside and cut each letter from the second sheet. Give the sheet and the cut-out letters to your child, and ask him to match the letters.
Noodling Around
A slightly challenging game for older children, this one is sure to keep him occupied for a while. Spread some uncooked penne pasta on a table and give a strand of spaghetti or a wooden skewer to your child. He has to put the spaghetti in his mouth and collect as many penne pasta pieces as he can without using his hands. If you don’t have penne pasta at home, you can also use wooden beads. This game is a great way to spend time indoors for older kids.
We hope you have fun organising these exciting games for your child. Try out all these activities and make your kid’s break a memorable one!
